| “UGEL” the Organization of Leaders! It doesn’t matter how some consider its members strange and different, but the Free General Student Union is, undoubtedly, soldiers’ home of Algerian university which, basically aims at defending and protecting the rights of students. The organization is founded on March 23, 1989, by the deceased Abdelhafid said (Ghardaia; 1995), working to get rid of the corruption enveloping the educational institutions in general, and university contexts, in specific. Recently, UGEL is widely recognized by all, be it non-involved students or high class-figures (Teachers, Deans, minister...) as most powerful student organization in Algeria comparing to other ones, they purely acknowledged the honesty and the higher purposes to which the members are aspiring to reach. Inclusively, the various activities laid-out by the engaged students provides a clear picture of this entity principles. It attempts to plant enthusiastic ideas and patriotic notions in every single individual’s mind, it reveals the genuine details that the humanistic leader should comply. The significance of joining UGEL could be resumed in certain points which are: 1-Personal growth: it raises student’s self-awareness through presenting opportunities to learn more about yourself to figure out your strength points and weaknesses; it offers chances to test your current knowledge in the handled situations. For example: training course which is planned to execute once per year in which every member try to present his talents in front of others. Mastering these aspects enables the participant to gain confidence in himself and a strong character while speaking in public which helps him acquire leadership skills that qualify everyone to influence people around. 2-community Engagement: the right position to know diverse people and spread intercultural understanding as the ethnic diversities we have in Algeria, Amazigh and Arabs; it enhances the “soft skills “which every one of us has got in his innate faculty. To explain, networking others stimulate the capacity to express yourself freely without being blamed but supporting you to get better. Moreover, it sheds light on the basics upon which the team work is based on and exchanging pieces of advice from each other. Eventually; it is a chance to have fun with peers and get a break from study. 3-Using the skills learned in class: being a part of the organization allows you to apply all what you have learned in the conducted works and of course in your future career. The most things attracted me students to this organization is the “humanistic soul” that every member has got. A simple example what I will portray but so deeper in its meaning, Zerouk Sohayeb is one of the former participants, he passed away on October the 7, 2017 .he left them but still alive in their hearts, always and forever! He drew a significant position in others’ memory by his high ethics and great ideas. They organized a number of courses and volunteer works in honor of him .Sohayeb is always present in the prayers of his second family (the organization). It shows the spiritual lace that connects hearts of the participants grown up upon UGEL’s principles. Finally, I talked only about the human development visions that the organization embraces, hoping that in the next articles, we shed light on the structural regulation that characterizes the Union. UGEL: is the French Acronym of the organization’s name, it stands for: L’Union Général Estudiantine Libre.
